HMI Software Engineer with Experience in Air Traffic Control

For a client of ours in the aviation industry, we are urgently looking for an HMI SOFTWARE ENGINEER with EXPERIENCE IN AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL. PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ONLY ACCEPT CANDIDATES WITH ATC EXPERIENCE.

TASKS AND DUTIES

The candidate will be required to develop the CWP software and documentation changes (from specification to design, coding and testing) in collaboration with the ATS/HMI developers.

The domains that the HMI Software engineer will cover are multiple; in particular tasks are expected to include:

- Perform investigation of problems and sketch solutions.
- Review request for changes, clarify the understanding of the intention, perform prototyping where necessary, and create unambiguous software specifications.
- Analyse modifications required to source code, documentation and test suite, and define test scope, to implement problem fixes and changes.
- Perform modifications to source code, documentation and test suite.
- Perform and document tests in line with test scope defined before.
- Arrange review of own source code, documentation and test result by peers.
- Review source code, documentation, test suite changes and test results performed by peers.
- Debrief on the status of work and potential technical and schedule problems.
- Execute tasks in accordance with governing quality, safety and security management procedures.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND AND SKILLS

The proposed expert shall have:

- EDUCATION, GENERAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- The expert shall comply with the following characteristics (R = required; D = desirable)
- Higher Technical Education in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent professional knowledge (R)
- Practical experience in analysing, discussing and writing operational and technical specifications (R)

TECHNICAL/PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION

- At least 5 years experience of programming large scale ( kSLOC) ATC Controller Working Position software using C++ within the ODS Toolbox environment (R)
- Knowledge of developing and executing automatic regression testing under strict configuration control (R)
- Experience in development and deployment in a Linux environment (R)
- Experience in developing and maintaining software and documentation in accordance with recognized industrial quality and safety standards (SWAL 3 or equivalent) (R) ext
