Help Desk/Client Production Services Specialist

A top Bank located in Jersey city, NJ is looking for a Help Desk/Client Production Services Specialist.

This will be a one year contract that the manager will look to constantly extend or turn full time.

The rate will be based on experience

The candidate would work for the Client Production Services Technology team in Prime Brokerage supporting the various in-house applications as well as monitoring the production environment. The role is two-fold, covering Production Support and Client Service Desk

Strong troubleshooting skills on Windows based applications are a must.

Experience in a Help Desk support role is very important.

Skills:

* Tech support: troubleshoot issues with PB applications
* Technical background with emphasis of Windows based application support (knowledge of Internet Explorer, Excel, Windows registry, etc)
* Working knowledge of databases (be able to read queries and write some simple SQL queries)
* Unix experience a plus (scripting), but not required
* Strong communications skills: answer client calls
* Fast-paced environment, will have to handle a multitude of issues at once (answer emails, respond to client's calls, escalate alerts, etc); must be able to multitask without dropping any issues
* Work well as part of the team
* Fast learner and not afraid to ask questions; often an issue must be responded to quickly, they must know to ask for help when they are unable to figure out how to proceed.
* Take initiative
* Ability to follow instructions
* Business knowledge a plus (experience in finance)

Responsibilities

* Work on rotation during different shifts: early shift 7am to 4pm or late shift 11am to 8pm
* Provide support for clients' calls between 7pm to 7am (paged)
* On-call for production support on rotation (weekly basis) to troubleshoot any production issues, 24x7

* Monitor Inbox for any production issues and handle/escalate accordingly.
* Monitor Inbox for any client requests. We should aim to answer each request within 5-10 minutes after it was received. This means that you must either assign this to yourself or to someone else in the group.
* Monitor items from the Production Support Daily Task list.
* Troubleshoot any issues with FTP transmission and set up new FTP jobs
* Be on-call for production support after hours on a weekly rotation
