The Company

The opportunity has arisen to join a global leader in the development of specialised engine systems and components for the automotive market as a Health and Safety Engineer.

The role:
Initially the Health and Safety (HSE) Engineer will be responsible for managing all of the risk assessments on site. This will include updating and implementing the processes and procedures on rise to manage risk, and reduce accident levels on site. Once this has been completed the Health and Safety Engineer will be responsible for assisting on all Environmental, Health and Safety programmes, to ensure compliance to corporate and legislative requirements for the site.

As a key member of the HSE Team, the Health and Safety Engineer will liaise with external bodies, to ensure all legal requirements relating to Heath and Safety issues are adhered to, and that any issues raised are investigated and resolved accordingly. You will manage key projects relating to H&S within a manufacturing environment (manual handling, machinery etc).

You will be involved in determining the priorities for the site relating to all environmental, security, occupational health and well being, industrial hygiene, ergonomics and fire protection programmes.

The Candidate:

An experienced Health and Safety professional, you should have background knowledge within a machining or manufacturing environment with experience of providing risk management solutions. Ideally you will hold a NEBOSH qualification, but candidates with similar health and safety qualifications will also be strongly considered.

As you may be required to present any findings and changes relating to Health and Safety on site, as well as interact directly with HSE good communication skills and assertiveness are essential for the role.

Knowledge of current EU regulations relating to environmental, health and safety such as COSHH would be preferred, but not essential.
