Health & Safety Engineer - Essex

Purpose: You will work as part of a Project team within agreed project management procedures to ensure that contracted work is completed in compliance with industry recognised Health & Safety regulations. You will accompany the project from an agreed point in the bid / solution design process, and then manage and closely monitor Health & Safety aspects throughout the planning, execution / controlling and closing stages of the project. In addition you will contribute to the Lessons Learnt Data base. Key Deliverables: * Examine the proposals from the Proposals Engineering Department and identify any significant Health & Safety issues prior to Contract Signature. * Provide technical support and expertise to ensure project related Health & Safety risks are eliminated, reduced or mitigated. * Implement processes and procedures to control and promote Health & Safety compliance, whilst ensuring they are consistent with overall corporate Health & Safety policies. * Promote cross functional Health & Safety awareness and education, specific to the project and industry, throughout project lifecycle * Responsible for maintaining Health & Safety related KPI`s. * Contribute to the reporting systems for each Installation Project and lessons learnt database * Perform project HAZOPs / HAZIDs * Other duties as required Qualifications/Skills/Experience: Required:- * Proven experience in similar role within industry with experience in the collation of technical engineering safety documentation and scopes of work * Experienced in HAZOPs / HAZIDs * Knowledge of the marine engineering industry, encompassing telecoms, power, Oil and Gas and Offshore Renewables. * Relevant Engineering degree * Knowledge of industry codes and standards * Good analytical capability * Competent user of Microsoft Office EPM (Enterprise Project Management) Environment * Ability and willingness to travel at short notice Ideal:- * Valid ENG1 and Offshore survival certificates * NEBOSH technical certificate in Oil & Gas operational safety * Results-orientated individual with a desire to improve performance.
