Role - Health and Safety Specialist
Location - Ireland, Co. Clare
Type - initially 12 month contract
Our key client is heavily investing in a new facility and looking for a Health and Safety Specialist to be responsible for supporting the occupational health, safety and security activities for their new Biopharmaceutical plant in the west of Ireland.
Key Responsibilities:
Participate in site H&S activity and ensure that the Site operations comply with relevant legislation and standards.
Provide technical H&S expertise and support to the Site EHS teams and personnel.
Develop and maintain a relevant, up to date and comprehensive safety statement for the site.
Develop and implement a Laboratory Safety Programme.
Perform EHS Risk Assessments and Ergonomic Assessments for site activities.
Maintain a complete register of method statements and safety risk assessments relating to all aspects of jobs.
Develop and provide safety training as required.
Co-ordinate and manage incident investigations.
Maintain accurate records of training and a training Matrix data base.
Undertake the development and writing up of safety procedures/SOP's as required.
Key Requirements:
Educated to a degree level in BS/BA in Health and Safety or a related field
Relevant experience working in an H&S role within the pharmaceutical industry and industrial hygiene
A knowledge of EHS legislation for a pharmaceutical facility operating within Ireland/Europe
Laboratory Safety Experience
Membership of ISOH or similar body
Ergonomist/VDU Assessor
