Health and Safety Manager - Netherlands - 12 Month Contract - English

My blue chip client based in Holland are looking for an HSE Manager to join their organisation. The role will cover the following: Develops, implements and monitors company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental health and safety regulations. Recommends corrective action where environmental health and safety hazards exist. Significant customer interface.

Typical activities may include:
Act as the  Regional HSE (Enviroment and Health Services) Manager for a specific geographical area
Prepare audit plan (scope), conduct audit, prepare audit report, coordinate m anagement review, and be responsible for action item resolution
Perform incident investigations and issue resolution to minimize and mitigate the impact on the
customer
Provide mgmt oversight to ensure processes are compliant with HSE policies
Provide support on scope of work (SOW) as necessary
Assist with the preparation and review of Risk Assessment and Hazard Management, Safe Work Plans and Emergency Response Plans
Direct interaction with local/regional customer contacts at all management levels
Work on performance  remediation plans for vendors with identified deficient HSE management systems/programs
Schedule and conduct:
o Site visits (travel will be required)
o Vendor reviews
o Activity and site audits
o Competency assessments
o Training for contractors
o Immediate corrective action implementation for contractors
Engaged in contractor key performance indicators (KPI)/metrics
Both planned and unscheduled activities that may include travel are expected

Desired Skills: & Experience
Excellent analytical skills
Demonstrated good planning and organizational skills
HSE Risk Assessment experience
Contractor assessment, evaluations and audits
Work in the oil and gas area preferred
Experience in medium to high risk work environments (eg elevated work, confined space, excavation and trenching)
Working with an established HSE management system required
Understanding of general and site specific HSE regulatory compliance (national and local) requirements
Ability to work with customer and contractor work forces
Experience in working on health, safety and environmental evaluations and assessments
Experience conducting HSE competency assessments of medium to high risk work activities
Prefer 5 plus years HSE experience or national accreditation in HSE (eg Certified Safety Professional, OSHA or NEBOSH) in lieu of years of experience.
Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability on project, tasks and supervision.
