Health & Safety Coordinator EMEA

Purpose of the role:
To support Health, Safety and Environment across the EMEA region comprising in excess of 47 countries and 9000 employees. Ensure all safety aspect for Moves and Projects and building programmes are covered for the EMEA region. Ensure EMEA region is compliant with local legal requirements whilst delivering company visions and values.

ACCOUNTABILITIES FOR THE ROLE:

- To lead H&S procedures and requirements under the HSE department.
- To police and prohibit any works or activities where it is deemed to be a risk to any person, environment or a breach of the statutory regulation, ACOP or company visions and values.
- To audit and manage contractors and ensure contractor control is maintained
- TO SUPPORT AND ADVICE TO THE GLOBAL CORPORATE REAL ESTATE TEAM. THE SUPPORT WILL ENTAIL:
- Health & Safety
- Permit procedures and approvals
- Support for Moves and Projects team
- Legionella, Asbestos and Fire monitoring
- Audits
- Property Risk Assessments
- Building monitoring
- Contractor Control
- Health and Safety Policies
- Emergency incident response
- To have ownership of the Health & Safety covering the property portfolio and in doing so provide advice, and support to the GCRE team.
- Monitor policies and best practices throughout the EMEA region to match or better existing local policies using UK H&S ACOP's or equivalent as a guide.
- Develop and deliver a comprehensive programme of audit and monitoring of supply chain partners' Health, Safety & Environmental systems and workplace practices working with and advising colleagues on best practice.
- Respond to incidents requiring reactive and remedial action outside the programmed work, and working with the supply chain partners and Property, Projects and Client Services colleagues to ensure prompt action is taken to mitigate risk to the environment and users of the estate.
- Provide support to other Property and Projects Services team members in the delivery of their responsibilities.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

- A relevant NEBOSH certificate with solid experience in a Health & Safety role
- Proven experience in Risk Assessments and Permit procedures
- Be a professional member of IOSH or equivalent
- Have an understanding of property engineering and building systems
- Be able to demonstrate experience of and skills in managing their own Health & Safety portfolio in an operational based environment
- Ability to travel to any EMEA location at short notice and stay overnight if required
- Demonstrate an understanding of high risks for Health, Safety & Environment and their relevance to statutory requirements.
- Have experience of developing and delivering audit and monitoring programme for Health, Safety & Environmental programmes run by third party suppliers.
