Job Description
My client based in Southampton is looking for an experienced Engineer to join the currently highly skilled function. The successful candidate will have a track record in the taking of products through integration and qualification through to delivery and support.

Skills, qualificationsQualification; Production; or Support of Military products leading to DDP and delivery.
* Experience with a variety of test equipment as used in development and Qualification testing
* Experience of Subcontract Management - desirable
* Writing technical reports
* Decision making based on a sound engineering background in electronic product design
* Can demonstrate a successful track record in design innovation and problem solving.
* An understanding of RF desirable
* Qualified to solder cable harnesses and through-hole component circuits
* Qualified for inspection of soldering desirable

* The ability to work to solve complex problems
* Ability to interface with suppliers of key components and assemblies will be required
* Must be self-motivated and have an aptitude to problem solve and drive difficult issues to conclusion
* Personal time management and time budgeting skills.
* Flexibility to support field trials and customer acceptance events
* Manual dexterity to do manual assembly/disassembly to access units on a rig

Key responsibility areas
* Define and build of equipment, including cable harnesses, for use in development test environments
* Delivery of work packages for own tasks and subcontractors
* Experienced in the principles of design and capable of Integration and Qualification work
* Integration, test and qualification of prime equipment
* Manual handling of units around the lab
* Work with subcontractors, managing technical interface
