For a client of ours, we are looking for a technical team leader with experience in Mainframe operations within larger organizations.
Start date: ASAP
Duration: 6 months
Location: Brussels, Belgium
Languages: Fluent in English, good communication skills in Dutch and French
The client is actively searching for a technical team leader with experience in leading a technical team and having experience in Mainframe operations within larger organizations. The position is situated in a Mainframe operational support team. The client is in the process of changing his operating model. The department will intensively collaborate with an external partner that delivers basic engineering services on the Mainframe asset.
Function description
The team leader will spend part of the time managing and organizing a team of technical Mainframe subject matter experts and provide consultancy services in Mainframe related topics. The role involves technical management and mentoring of the z/Network, z/Automation and z/Storage team members. As a technical leader, the candidate will operate alongside another technical team leader responsible for z/Software support. The team lead will take care of technical management of the 3 sub-teams and encourages the different groups to work together as well as takes responsibility for team building to optimize performance, planning and managing resources to provide correct levels of service. The team lead sets challenging but achievable team targets to match business requirements,
Technical experience
- Basic knowledge on Mainframe operational tools ( CA-OPS, TSA, Omegamon, Netview, TCPIP, HOD, TPX, )
- Management of Storage and related devices, working knowledge of storage fundamentals
- Experience with replication management software (GDPS solutions), (TDMF, Global Copy PPRC/XRC
- Experience of current Mainframe tape solutions implementation, tape migration at the application level.
- Experience with Mainframe related hardware & software suppliers is a pre
- Experience with high volume production systems is a pre.
Business experience
- Working with Mainframe related hardware & software suppliers
- Experience with high volume production systems
- 5 years' experience in implementation of large scale Mainframe infrastructure projects is a pre.
- 5 years' experience working with IBM or HDS Mainframe storage design, implementation and operations is a pre.
- 5 years in Mainframe infrastructure (HW and SW) design and architecture planning and strategy is a pre.
