This role is to join one of the leading technology companies in the Big Data Hadoop space as a Senior Solution Architect on a 1 year Contract (Remote working)
The successful individual will be part of one of the most cutting edge projects; building fast big data solutions for near real-time stream processing, as well as batch processing on the Hadoop platform. The ideal candidate takes a principled approach to problem solving grounded in computer science, expertly executed in clear-cut code.

Key accountabilities:
• Design solution architecture for presenting the solution for the business users based on their problem or strategy
• Work with business domain experts, data scientists and application developers to identify data relevant for analysis and develop the solution for porting the data into HDFS
• Deep knowledge of setting up and running Hadoop development tools like Hive, Sqoop, Streaming mechanisms, Pig, Mahout, Scala, SPARK and others
Required Skills:
• Experience of working in large and medium project teams, as a contributing member in self-directed and team-player roles.
• Strong understanding of Hadoop tools and technology.
• Distributed Computing
• Functional Programming (Statically typed, purely functional)
• Scala
• Scalaz or similar typeclass, category theory based toolkit for pure functional programming in Scala
• Experience with stream processing libraries.
