GCS Systems Engineer

A Systems Engineer is required to join a team of engineers working on the design of the flight operations system for an earth observations satellite. The successful candidate will be working for one of the world leaders in the design and manufacture of satellite systems, based in Portsmouth.

The main tasks and responsibilities will include:

Requirements analysis and functional decomposition
Design of software systems architectures
System Performance budgeting
Delivery of incremental systems design
Authoring of technical specifications
Interface definition
Technical review of software subsystems
Technical analysis of system design issues
Interaction with the customer and suppliers
Support of the deployment and verification system

This role will involve some business travel within Europe. Expenses will be reimbursed in line with the companies expense policy.

Essential:
Software Engineering, basic networking experience, formal approach to documentation. Pro-active and problem-solving approach.

Desirable:
Satellite flight operations system, Security engineer.
