We currently require a Family Intervention Project Worker based in Basingstoke to case manage referrals from the Supporting Troubled Families Programme to the Family Intervention Project (FIP). The focus of this role is to work in partnership with families and other agencies to identify and address the often complex issues that families face such as anti-social behaviour, truancy, unemployment and managing their tenancy effectively.
You will provide and co-ordinate intensive and structured support and intervention to families to help them address and change their behaviour on both an outreach and residential basis.
The work is sometimes emotionally demanding, often stressful and always rewarding. Flexible, positive and willing to learn, you'll be capable of communicating with people from all walks of life in a wide range of situations, remaining calm in a crisis and adapting to constantly changing situations and priorities.
To be successful in this role experience of providing services to children and/or families with complex needs is essential along with good record-keeping skills, the ability to construct coherent reports and contribute to and complete assessments as required.
Strong mediation/negotiation skills and the ability to work in an inclusive and non-discriminatory manner is a must as is working effectively with other professionals and organisations. Literacy and numeracy to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent is required along with good IT skills.
Due to the essential travel requirements of the role a full driving licence with access to your own transport is essential.
