Faculty Research Professor

The Center for Gene Therapy invites applications from qualified individuals to fill a faculty position as a Research Professor. The faculty member will work on clinical and pre-clinical projects in the Center's Laboratory of Cellular Medicine within the Hematologic Malignancies and Stem Cell Transplantation Institute at City of Hope. The position will report to the Center Director.

Work activities in the Laboratory of Cellular Medicine will include, but not limited to the following:
•Managing experimental projects relating to stem cell gene therapy, manufacturing methods, vector development, and related research regarding cell biology;
•Grant writing for support of research activities;
•Performing research on human or animal tissues as part of IND-enabling studies;
•Analyzing cell cultures grown from cell lines or tissue samples as part of IND-enabling studies;
•Assisting in the production of laboratory documentation, particularly relating to standard operating procedures;
•Developing new methods of investigation and keeping up to date with stem cell research innovations;
•Implementing quality control procedures (both internal and external) to maintain accurate results for clinical trial samples.

The successful applicant's primary focus is to support the research infrastructure and activities of the Center for Gene Therapy at City of Hope. The ability to work effectively as part of a team is an important personal quality for the role.
