Electronics Quality Inspector

REQUIRED: ELECTRONICS QUALITY INSPECTOR
LOCATION: GUILDFORD
DURATION: 2 MONTH INITIAL CONTRACT

The incoming inspector is responsible for inspecting all items, and the efficient and effective running of this process, ensuring a flow of quality assured products to our assembly and test teams.

Duties and Responsibilities
*Inspects manufactured electro-mechanical assemblies, PCBs and metalwork upon arrival at BAE, and any other items as directed by the Test Team Lead or other stakeholders.
*Prioritises workload within framework priority list provided by Test Team Lead.
*Ensures that all items are inspected in a timely manner.
*Inspects assemblies to IPC610 Class III standards, and considers any product specific requirements as directed by product documentation
*Inspects product paperwork to ensure it is fully and correctly completed.
*Tracks progress and results of inspection using tracking spreadsheet. Photographs and documents defects using failure reporting template.
*Returns non-conforming items to suppliers via Stores Controller (unless directed by the Production Manager).
*Tracks remedial actions performed in-house in tracking spreadsheet.
*Uses eB and Vantage (configuration and MRP systems) to access information on products and requirements.
*Conduct minor repairs, as required.
*Undertakes minor testing, as directed by the Test Team Lead
*Uses relevant tools to measure, inspect and test products. Requests additional tools as required and ensures they are kept in working order.
*Maintains clean, tidy and effective workspace
*Provide Test Team lead with clear information on expected throughput, inspection cycle times for each product, and size of inspection backlog.
*Keeps up-to-date with industry standard tools and techniques. Advises internally on industry accepted best practice.
Creates QA plans for batch acceptance via first article inspection where appropriate.
