Electrical Control Engineer Job

ELECTRICAL CONTROL ENGINEER needed for a 12 month contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in Erie, PA.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- The Electrical Control Network Engineer will be responsible for development, documentation, validation, and troubleshooting of locomotive control and data networks.
- looking at the physical layer with a scope to check the signal integrity
- In this role you will utilize experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.
- Responsible for the network design, implementation, and maintenance in locomotive communication and control systems.
- Understand, derive, and integrate electrical and mechanical requirements from locomotive subsystems design specifications into a complete locomotive design.
- Responsible for network integration and testing activities ensuring quality specifications are met.
- Participate in design reviews.
- Drive performance, quality, productivity, and reliability enhancements.
- Use of configuration management tools for documentation change control.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or other Engineering discipline from an accredited college or university. Masters Degree would be preferable.
- Experience with Arcnet and CAN networks.
- One to three (1 - 3 years of experience in network design.
- Other Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of network protocols including: Ethernet/IP, TCP/IP, and UDP/UDT, LIN.
- Knowledge of the QNX operating system and FTP, TFTP file transfer protocols.
- Knowledge of the IPV4, IPV6, routing, VLAN.
