Development Support Manager - Perm - Bedfordshire

A leading software consultancy based in Bedfordshire is looking for a Development Support Manager on a permanent basis.

As the Development Support Manager you will head up a small team of 3 people that support the internal development projects. This team provides the development departments will all the technical environment and resources upon which they develop software.

Technical skills:

Microsoft Server 2003/2008; Managing a version control system; Network Management; IIS 6.x/7.x; Oracle 11g; Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008; and Virtualisation.

Desirable: VMWare; Citrix and Software Engineering or Software Testing Experience

Key responsibilities:

* Line Management of the Development Support team

* Provide technical and professional supervision to members of the team

* Physical and virtual infrastructure

- manage the VMWare vSphere ESX environment
- manage the test Citrix environment
- manage the development and support database environment
- management and support of any required support reproduction environments

* Release artefacts

- Responsibility for the running and evolution of the development build system
- Manage and optimise the system that produces the release deliverables
- Assist the Release Manager in the production of base releases, service packs and hot-fixes.

* To support the test and project teams with the Supporting toolset

- Manage the JIRA and Confluence WIKI systems on behalf of the Development Team
- Manage the version control system, in partnership with the Development Manager
- Manage any systems added to the development supporting toolset in the future
- Keep Development Management updated of risks and impediments.

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum
