DD33146 - Telecommunications Engineer

Problems are varied and range from simple to moderately complex. Resolution is both reactive and proactive; typically requires significant research and analysis. Work customarily and regularly (50% of time or more) requires the exercise of discretion and independent judgment.
Normally receives general instructions on non-routine or new assignments. Decisions are made independently for most work assignments.

Position is responsible for working with Verizon's Latin American vendors, to obtain local access pricing for Verizon corporate data customers in region.
Individual will interface with Verizon sales, at all levels, to understand customer requirements. Individual will work directly with Verizon vendors in Latin America, sending out request for quotes, (RFQs), to the vendors based on customer requirements/design.
Price negotiations with vendors Included.
Fundamental understanding of data networks is required.

Qualifications:
Understanding of digital hierarchy and Ethernet Technology.
Four years experience in the Telecommunications market.
Excellent written and verbal skills and good interpersonal skills.
Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience in procurement or project management.
Bachelor degree or equivalent is preferred.

Other Skills:
Bilingual, Spanish is a plus.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, filters, pivot tables and formulas
