DBA - SQL Server

We are working with a highly-sought Federal Government organisation to source a Database Administrator with SQL Server expertise.

This is an initial contract until 31 May 2015 with TWO X 12 MONTH EXTENSION OPTIONS.

A minimum NV1 security clearance is required and upgrade to NV2 security clearance is likely.

DUTIES:

- Manage SQL databases supplying business systems for an international network;
- Work with the Server team to provision SQL Servers;
- Assist with performance and capacity management of SQL server systems;
- Perform research, development and implementation of IT infrastructure for corporate application deployment;
- Perform SQL server configuration management such as server patching and hardening;
- Provide 2nd and 3rd level Service Desk support as required;
- Complete work assigned and follow directions provided by the DBA team leader;
- Follow change management processes for system configuration changes; and
- Provide technical advice to other IMD staff and participate in skills transfer as required and mentor junior staff.

SKILLS:

- Experience in MS Windows Active Directory based server environment.
- Ability in administrating SQL Server 2005/2008/2008R2/2012 environments.
- Ability to work with complex Transact SQL and complex SSIS.
- Ability in logical and physical database modelling.
