Data Engineer (m/f/d)

MY DUTIES:

- You will be involved in developing a data management platform to ingest and process real time IoT data, integrate data from other sources such as inventory and e-commerce, process the data with advance analytics and machine learning.
- Work with stakeholders to gather requirements, functional specifications and define business logic to meet the company’s needs
- Decompose systems in components and subsystems, define their interaction patterns, and specify the interfaces between them
- Analyse trade-offs between different alternative solutions, the business impact of technical choices and create transparency about technical debts
- Collaborate within our team and with other business units to ensure features delivered exceed expectations from multiple dimensions (code quality, extensibility, modularity, scalability, security, operational concerns, end user requirements)
- Hands-on concept/prototype development of databases and connectors, being able to resolve technical problems as they arise
- Work closely with our team and software suppliers to ensure we're building solid features

MY QUALIFICATIONS:

- University degree in information technology, software engineering, computer science, or related field
- Technical knowledge and experience in event-driven architectures, data management infrastructure, data schemas and data modelling, data and digitalization impact to business capabilities
- Understanding of systems operations concepts (disk, network, operating systems, etc.)
- Strong background in programming in languages like Python, SQL or Java
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
- Experience with DevOps and infrastructure as code is a plus
- Business fluent in English, German is a plus
