Data Analyst III

We are the leading IT outsourcing company seeking DATA ANALYST III for a CONTRACT TO HIRE opportunity with one of the world's top corporations.You will run (daily) workflow tools to gather required work tasks and package them up to workforce. The Tool uses SSIS, SSRS, and other SQL tools for automation. The candidate will develop solutions to business unit data and reporting needs through data analysis, access, extraction and interpretation, and report development.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Help support the development, implementation and maintenance of database based applications that support all Regence customer service operations.
- Develop models and reports, analysis, special projects, presentation, and other duties assigned for all Regence customer service or claim operations related to the systems supported.
- Maintain existing and develop new information reporting systems to support requirements of internal and external users.
- Analyze and evaluate impacts of new products, systems and work processes on data and reporting systems.
- Work with departments responsible for transitions systems to assure reporting data is captured and the integrity and reliability of the data is maintained.
- Assist business analysts in other departments with interpretation of data and the appropriate uses of data tools.
- Provide training to business analyst in query and report preparation for the purpose of improving report consistency.
- Communicate result of analysis and recommendations in verbal and written form.
- Communicate with information users to determine reporting requirements.
- Specific to Claims Operations: Analyze data and prepare management reports for month end claim inventories for users, related to audits, trends, enrollment for all lines of business.

QUALIFICATIONS AND TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

- Four year degree in Business, Health Information Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or related field plus 1 year of hands on experience in Data Analysis or supporting relational database development, maintenance or utilization. OR Associate/Vocational degree in Business, Health Information Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or related field plus 2 years of hands on experience in Data Analysis or supporting relational database development, maintenance or utilization
- Experience with the Oracle suite of tools, CLEAR ACCESS, MS Access, and/or experience with SQL, SQL Plus, SQL Navigator, Platinum, etc. Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat commands and Lotus Notes (Domino) helpful.
- Demonstrated analytical ability to identify problems, develop solutions and implement a chosen course of action.
- Ability to be creative and innovative in the application of data and information to support strategic and tactical planning.
- Understanding of all the corporate data systems including claims, membership, pricing and provider data systems.
- Skills and experience using word processing and spreadsheet programs.
- Ability to work well independently or with a team.
- Must possess strong problem solving skills.
- Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills including presentation skills.
