Data Analyst/Data Migration Specialist - Warwick, West Midlands

DATA ANALYST/DATA MIGRATION SPECIALIST required for Public Sector organisation based in Warwickshire, West Midlands.

Our client is introducing SharePoint as its main document repository. A data analysis and migration specialist is required, initially to analyse the users existing data structures and assess the scope and scale of the work to import the data from network file shares into SharePoint, and to recommend the best way forward for the data migration. Further phases of activity will then involve the actual cleanse, data manipulation and final migration of the data.CANDIDATES WILL BE HIGHLY INTERESTED IN AND MOTIVATED BY WORKING WITH DATA. EXCELLENT ATTENTION TO DETAIL, PATIENCE AND CONCENTRATION TO PROBLEM SOLVE WITH DATA, IDENTIFY PATTERNS AND RECOGNISE ANOMOLIES. AN UNDERSTANDING OF DATA PROTECTION AND THE SECURITY REQUIREMENTS OF WORKING WITH SENSITIVE DATA IS ALSO REQUIRED.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

HANDS ON EXPERIENCE OF TECHNOLOGIES TO ASSIST WITH DATA ANALYSIS, CLEANSING, DATA MANIPULATION AND MIGRATION

KNOWLEDGE OF HOW DOCUMENTS ARE STORED ON NETWORK FILE SHARES (AD) IS ALSO ESSENTIAL.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE IN UNDERTAKING SUCCESSFUL LARGE-SCALE DATA MIGRATIONS FROM AD NETWORK FILE SHARES INTO DOCUMENT REPOSITORIES USING DATA MIGRATION TOOLS.PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE OF WORKING WITHIN THE PUBLIC/GOVERNMENT SECTOR IS PREFERRED

An understanding of how data is held and structured in SharePoint 2010 would be advantageous but not essential.

Recent experience of undertaking data migrations into SharePoint is also desirable.

Previous experience of using DocKIT by Vyapin to handle the bulk loading of documents and metadata into Sharepoint or similar tool would be advantageous.
