My public sector client is looking to recruit a Commercial Operating Officer who will be responsible for the day-to-day running of a busy commercial team.

You will have responsibility for developing the team with a particular focus on negotiations, corporate finance, market intelligence and investor relations, as well as continual input into policy development and performance management of direct reports.

The COO will set the direction of the team and liaise widely with stakeholders across the department, including at corporate and group level. You will need to have a strategic overview of all elements of professional commercial advice into the department including the commercial team, commercial advisors Embedded within policy teams and professional support services from external advisors.

The role will also involve analysis of the commercial needs of the department and allocation of available expertise to secure the required policy outcomes and the avoidance of effort/expertise duplication.

Security clearance and public sector experience would be advantageous
