Clinical Nursing Assessor Band 7

We are currently looking for a Band 7 Health Assessor to work in east London. Duration is an initial 3 months with a look to extend if the candidate is a good fit.
Key responsibilities are:

Key Responsibilities
I.To provide specialist knowledge in relation to health, bereavement and pathology underpinned by significant practical experience and theoretical study

II. To provide and receive highly complex, sensitive clinical information relating to child deaths. To analyse and disseminate complex information.

III. With the CDOP doctor review all the information available, making recommendations where changes in policy and practice are indicated to promote safer practice.

IV. To communicate child welfare concerns in accordance with LSCB guidelines and procedures and to assist agencies as necessary with this process.

V. To ensure that families are provided with appropriate bereavement support and feed back to the CDOP where gaps in provision are identified.

VI. To provide specialist training/advice to both statutory and voluntary organisations/independent contractors in relation to the child death overview process

VII. To participate in home visits with the police as part of the rapid response process collecting and collating information to inform an investigation into the death.

VIII. To establish links with regional and national forums, seeking to establish collaborative networks in relation to the principle aspects of their role.

IX. Develop and maintain constructive relationships between individual workers, teams, departments and organisations, and, on occasion, with families.

X. To support the Nurse Consultant in other duties in relation to independent contractors/Designated Nurse as required
