Clinical Manager - Contract

CLINICAL MANAGER

£50K-£55K (6 MTH CONTRACT) - Based at Home

We are looking for a Band 8 Nurse, (or equivalent), with managerial and training experience in leading a clinical team.

You will need at least 2 years' post-registration experience in the UK, a valid licence to practice, and an active PIN registered with NMC.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will provide management and clinical supervision for a team of four nurses who are responsible for undertaking assessments on retrospective CHC claims. The contract is for a period of 6 months, home-based, with occasional travel (10%).

The Clinical Manager will be required to implement a clinical process based on NHS guidelines for retrospective health care claims, and where appropriate, will propose changes to existing practices and procedures. In addition, the Clinical Manager will also provide support to the Business Development function in the promotion of Capita CHC Services.

You will be accountable for the delivery of clinical assessments to ensure that they are of the required quality, consistency and align to NHS guidelines. You will liaise on a regular basis with the Claims Assessment Team in Ludlow in terms of the progression of claims and future capacity.

The role will also include delivery of training to the nurse team on the agreed process and if required the recruitment of additional staff. You will also be required to hold regular feedback meetings with the customers to assess progress and ensure that implications and standards set out within the DoH guidelines are fully understood and adhered to.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

* Professional knowledge across a number of clinical areas (elderly care, district nursing, care home)
* Knowledge of NHS policies in particular the Continuous Healthcare Framework
* Trainer/nursing teacher experience
* Managerial experience in leading a clinical team
* Ability to assess complex information and/or situations
* Experience of liaising with customers
* Experience of presenting services to CCG/PCT management
