CAD-Designer (m/f/d)

MY DUTIES:

- Mechanical Design Engineering Participate in all aspects of the design process for large expansion and green-field projects globally as well as plant support projects
- Utilize internal and external resources to ensure completion within the approved schedule and budget
- Prepare detailed cost estimates with support of the engineering team
- Prepare Capital Asset Requests (CARs) in conjunction with plant and divisional personnel
- Develop machine layouts under the direction of the Engineering Design Manager
- Survey plant sites and locations for new facilities as requested, including research into available utilities, space requirements for equipment, and possible restrictions which may hamper company’s operating facility
- Research new equipment and technologies for possible application in Omya’s processes Assist in implementing new systems, as necessary
- Develop and maintain design standards working with each region to assure consistency in process, construction, equipment, design, and installation, in coordination competency groups
- Support the project management team to ensure project completion within approved budgets using established project management guidelines and systems
- Assist in developing project baselines including: scope development, cost estimates, schedules, resources planning and communication plans
- Utilize PTC Creo & Windchill to develop Manufacturing drawings, specific documentation and equipment general arrangement drawings as required

MY QUALIFICATIONS:

- Mechanical Design apprenticeship and/or Bsc. In Mechanical Engineering
- First hands-on experience as CAD designer in the industry preferably with Creo
- Experience in the mineral processing industry, or other heavy industry in operations as an advantage
- Excellent command of both oral and written local language and English are required
- Travel regularly (including internationally) for periods of 2 days to 3 weeks per trip
