C# Developer / Pre sales Consultant - C#, SQL Server, Client facing skills - CONTRACT

Type - Contract (6 - 12 months +)

Rates - £250 to 260 per day

C# Developer / Pre-Sale Consultant is required for an initial 6 to 12 month contract based in Chester. The role is internally referred to as a CMS Engineer, which stands for Centrifuge Monitoring System. The client designs, manufactures and supplies technology for Nuclear power-plants. The role is approximately 60% technical ability, 40% sales/soft-skills/client facing.

The CMS Engineer role will be within the Control, Electrical & Instrumentation (CEI) section of the Plant Design & Projects (PD&P) group of the company and will report to the CMS Business Manager.

Detailed role responsibilities:

- Support the generation of commercial offers to customers with support from the commercial department.
- Assist in managing the supply of equipment from subcontractors to meet customer's project needs. Quality, delivery schedule, technical compliance and cost control will be part of this activity together with equipment witness testing.
- Ensure satisfactory installation and commissioning of equipment on customer's sites including identification and training of commissioning staff and provision of documentation required for work on customer's sites.
- Provision of adequate training together with operation and maintenance documentation as part of the handover of systems to customers.
- Management of equipment database to track installed equipment. This will be used to track failures, provide version control and ensure adequate provision of spares to customers.
- Monitor the system design and propose appropriate developments to provide improvements in functionality and manage obsolescence. New developments will be adequately tested and qualified and will be introduced to customers in a controlled manner.
- Carry out qualification of new suppliers to ensure continuity of supply of equipment and appropriate competition for contracts.
- Support the development activities for CMS including programming in C# and management of suppliers developing electronic systems
- Detail design activities for CMS including writing equipment specifications and checking contractors design.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

- A good quality degree in electrical or electronic engineering preferably
- Good interpersonal skills and a high level of computer literacy including the ability to use spreadsheets to perform engineering analysis
- An ability to speak French, Dutch or German in addition to English would be an advantage
- Regular travel to European suppliers in France, Germany and the Netherlands
