Business Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY:

Do you have extensive IT business analysis experience? Are you a skilled problem solver? Do you have Medicare Part D knowledge? If so, we want to hear from you! Our client is looking for a Business Analyst to create and maintain the link between business needs and IT application capabilities. You'll work closely with an IT Project Manager to define, test, train, and implement functional requirements. Identify requirements using standard analysis techniques such as data flow modelling, workflow analysis, and functional decomposition analysis. This is your opportunity to become the functional expert and serve in a critical role between the business unit and the IT Application Development team. Some of your responsibilities will include the following:

- Gain a full understanding of business and functional requirements by conducting business requirement sessions using interviews, workshops, and/or existing systems documentation.
- Provide input and recommendations for business and process improvements.
- Document current business processes and participate in developing to be processes.
- Convey functional requirements to the Application Development and Quality Assurance teams by working closely with Managers, Developers and QA Analysts to conduct functional requirement reviews and technical design sessions.
- Create user and system related documentation for new applications.
- Provide weekly status reports.

REQUIREMENTS:

- IT business analysis experience of at least eight years and a four year degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or similar field required. Equivalent work experience of 10 years or more without a four year degree.
- Five years of working with web based projects and systems is required.
- Proficient understanding of all Microsoft Office tools (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Internet Explorer, and Visio) and an expert user in at least two of the Microsoft Office tools.
- Must be an effective verbal and written communicator across various audiences.
- Be a strong business relationship builder and generates enthusiasm among team members.
- Demonstrable knowledge of database applications, web environments, and reporting.
- Proven ability to successfully manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.
- Proactively seeks opportunities to serve in a leadership role.
- BA certification and process mapping software experience is a plus.
