Backup/System Administrator

Cynergies Solutions Group is looking for qualified candidates for a Backup/System Administrator position with one of our clients in the Cleveland, OH area. This position has the possibility to go direct with client.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Responsible for the configuration, on-going administration, maintenance, and evolution of CommVault backup strategies and solutions.
- Will be responsible for off-site media management and periodic testing of disaster recovery plans.
- Actively supports the production MS SQL Server (2008+) database environments, VMware, Netapp and ever increasing multi-fold enterprise data volumes.
- Maintain and expand the existing Backup strategy and infrastructure
- Work directly with colleagues to maintain and evolve the Disaster Recovery Planning, Testing and Response for the Enterprise
- Leverage the Backup Infrastructure for Operational efficiency, including data staging, recovery and hardware migration
- Collaborate with other team members on IT/Operations initiatives, including data center, network administration, backup and disaster recovery efforts and strategies
- Participate in an on-call production technology support rotation
- Various opportunities to grow professionally, expand skill sets and take ownership

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE

- Strong problem solving and organizational skills
- Drive to succeed and desire to advance
- 3 years of experience as a Backup Administrator or Windows Systems Administrator
- Experience with Backup Exec 2010/2012, CommVault
- Technical working knowledge of Disaster Recovery concepts and best practices, including experience with Big Data volumes
- Experience in administration of source systems including: MSSQL Server 2008/R2/2012Ent, Hyper-V
- Familiarity with top tier data center environments
- Industry Certifications
