Backup/Recovery Service Delivery Manager

JOB TITLE: IT Program Manager - DD50259

LOCATION: Greenwood Village, CO

CONTRACT LENGTH: 12months +

CONTRACT TERMS: W-2 only

This position reports to the Sr. Manager of Service Operations and Delivery. The Service Operations and Delivery organization is responsible for managing production service delivery provided by IBM, the operations and administration service partner.

Client has a very large infrastructure footprint with over 20,000 Servers spread across 4 main data centers and numerous regional offices, hospitals and Medical Office Buildings.

Server platforms consist of Mainframe, UNIX (AIX and some SunOS), Linux, and Windows Servers and Tivoli Storage Manager being the main open systems tool, with NetBackup used in some regional offices.

POSITION DESCRIPTION: As a Service Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the IBM BUR team delivers the production BUR services, including monitoring, managing and measuring the effectiveness of the BUR services, and providing an escalation point for any production issues. Provide 24x7 production support for backup/recovery to ensure BUR administrators are effectively managing the environment.

EXPERIENCE LEVEL: 10 Years +. At least 5 years Management experience managing BUR teams or services, with at least some experience with managing outsourced resources.

SKILL SET: Background in Backup/Recovery Administration, with TSM experience preferred. Vendor management and strong communication skills highly desired.

Daily Responsibilities
Monitor and measure IBM Backup/Recovery(BUR) service delivery and provide technical guidance and leadership to help them improve their service.
Provide leadership and best practice consulting to IBM Backup/Recovery teams in the areas of installation and configuration of backup software, automation of backup and recovery tasks, day to day management and administration of the backup infrastructure and software
Provide consulting, support and technical leadership for critical incidents in support of availability objectives.
Work with the BUR teams to review, implement, and report on key metrics through TSM, NetBackup and other storage-related monitoring tools.

SIZE OF THE TEAM: This position is responsible for the delivery of services by between 10 and 30 IBM Storage administrators

STAGE OF THE PROJECT: This position is for the on-going operational support of backup infrastructure, including tape, VTL, backup policy enforcement, development of catalog for backup services.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT: Bachelor's degree with extensive experience (10 years, min 5 years Management or Team Leadership experience), MBA preferred
