Automotive Design Engineer

This is a contract role for 6 months+ based near Warrington and the rate is competitive.

The Role:

As mechanical design engineer you will have responsibility for design coordination of several pipework installation contracts (~£1M each). The role is mainly office based in North West England with some UK travel required for site inspection and client liaison.

You will you will be responsible for coordination and delivery of all detailed pipework installation drawings as required.:

-Process plant layout
-Pipework layout and standards (ASME B31.3)
-Access steelwork
-Small fabrications
-P&ID's
-Participate in progress and departmental meetings
-Provide technical assistance to external production facilities and internal departments
-Develop, update and amend engineering design drawings using 2D and 3D software packages
-Implement Engineering changes accurately within required timescales
-Knowledge of RFI, Doc management and transmittal, variation management etc.
-Assist in the development of new products, idea generation and production of concepts
-Participate in and recommend continuous improvement activities
-Liaise with other departments to efficiently and effectively resolve problems
-Ensure safety, health and environment is inherent in all projects.
-Promote, improve and maintain appropriate quality systems during the design process

As a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer you will be well organised and capable of working under pressure and to tight deadlines.
