Analytics Database ETL Developer

The reporting and ANALYTICS DATABASE/ETL DEVELOPER position will blend deep technical database development skills with a strong report and dashboard development background and a keen business sense to help maintain and enhance a leading edge custom built information security metrics reporting solution.

The Database/ETL Developer Specialist will extend the existing capabilities while maintaining existing functionality.

The Database/ETL Developer will be responsible for designing and developing the Extraction Transformation layer for the reporting and visualization platform. The Database/ETL Developer will work in partnership with internal business stakeholders, and engineering teams. The Developer will lead enhancements and small-scale projects (from inception through to production) and will be responsible for creating and maintaining online reports and dashboards that house information on vulnerabilities, threats, incident and compliance data related to the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Work with data warehousing specialists and business analysts to understand reporting requirements and build the ETL layer to support the analytics, visualization and reporting framework.
- Design and develop ETL Layer from start to finish, keeping in mind all performance tuning and data integrity considerations.
- Support the reporting and visualization teams on database development activities (stored procedures, UDFs, and assistance with complex SQL views)
- Work with internal clients and other team members to understand and define data requirements to build ETL Layer.
- Establish source to target mapping standards and maintain metadata on all ETL processes.

MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS:

- Seasoned Data Warehouse ETL Developer with expertise in performance tuning for ETL processing
- Experience with Industry standard ETL Tools (SSIS, AbInitio, Informatica etc.)
- Minimum 5+ years of experience with database development using industry standard RDBMS
- Strong understanding of fundamentals in Dimensional Modeling (Start schema, Snowflake schema, Type 1/2 SCDs)
- Must be an expert in SQL/PostgreSQL development (experience with SQL Windows functions, extensive experience with UDFs in PostgreSQL)
- Strong analytical reasoning skills with the ability to recognize and evaluate facts, to objectively analyze situations, and to synthesize and organize data/information from multiple sources and highlight salient facts
- Bachelor's degree in computer science (or related field) or equivalent work experience
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills and the proven ability to influence and communicate effectively
- Must be flexible and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities on tight deadlines
- Advanced MS Office skills: Word, Excel, Access, SharePoint
- Must sit in Foster City

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Experience with Industry standard ETL Tools (SSIS, AbInitio, Informatica etc.)
- Experience with database development for reporting solutions (reports and dashboard development using BI technologies such as Tableau)
- Information security Industry background including one or more Security certifications (CISSP, CISM, and CISA) a strong plus
- Experience with Scripting languages (Python, Perl, Bash, PHP, Batch etc.)
- Experience or knowledge of Hadoop based large scale data processing systems a plus
