A&E / Emergency Care Project Lead

Practicus is currently partnering with an Acute Trust in the South East, supporting them with their Emergency Care Improvement Programme. The key area for improvement is ensuring the A&E department meets all the national KPI targets by improving patient flows.

My client is looking for an experienced Interim AD of Emergency Care/A&E Manager to support the Trust improve patient flows both in and out of A&E. This will include working closely with the Community to reduce admissions and attendances as well as improve internal discharge processes. We need an NHS interim with extensive experience and a proven track record of delivering improvement to the emergency care pathway enabling the Trust to achieve meet the required 95% in A&E, reduce Length of Stay and improve discharge.

A key part of the role will be ensuring the Trust achieves performance targets for Q4. You will be responsible for driving a cultural change and inserting an element of energy and urgency into the directorate by putting back some levels of control. Current levels of activity are high and many of the clinicians are resistant to change therefore gaining engagement is crucial to the success. A clinical background is preferred but not essential.
